Burning Ships Featured
I've been thinking a lot about the song Burn the Ships by For King and Country and it's got me thinking.
The saying comes from the commander of a ship named Hernán Cortés way back in 1519. He and his crew would set sail and, as legend has it he'd get his men to burn their ships, leaving no option but to press on! Their ability to go back was gone……their safety net removed.
Sometimes we have to do just that.....not go around buring ships but remove the ability to return to a previous way of life.
As we come to the end of the year, it's a natural time to start thinking about the past year and assessing where you're at.
Are there decisions you need to make to move forward? Is there new ground for you to conquer?
Are there things you need to leave behind? Perhaps a relationship that's just not good for you, a job that's not delivering, or addictions that need to be dealt with.
Whatever it might be, with God's strength all things are possible.
Phil 4:13
For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
