Rest a while Featured
Recently in Melbourne we did a river boat tour and learned all about the Yarra river.
The thing I found most interesting is that even though it's brown it's not polluted.
The reason is that fresh water flows down from the Yarra valley carrying nutrient rich sediment down to the bay while salt water flows up from the mouth of the river. Because salt water is heavier than fresh and both currents are so strong the silt doesn't have time to settle so it always looks dirty -which is why it's also known as the upside-down river.
A nice metaphor for life.
If you take the two biggest things in your life say work and home life, if you don't take time to rest and let the swirl of life settle, things can get a bit mucky.
A little picture as to why it's good to rest.
Jesus said to them, `Come away with me. Let us go alone to a quiet place and rest for a while.' Many people were coming and going. They could not even eat.
So they went away in a boat to a lonely place by themselves.
