New Zealand: Paradise Squandered

After completing his post graduate medical studies overseas, John returned to New Zealand with Olga and their children for seven years. In 1974 John became the consultant rheumatologist at Bedford Hospital, England. Since 2002 Olga and John have lived in Christchurch, New Zealand, John’s home town. The history buff John is a former New Zealand athletics champion and decathlete. He has written a book called New Zealand: Paradise Squandered.

Kaikoura Earthquake Havoc

On November the 14th 2016 a large earthquake struck the south island – and caused havoc in many parts of the region including Kaikoura. Now scientists have discovered more about that quake, Luke caught up with Anna Kaiser Seismologist for GNS.

Unicef on Syria

Syrians have lost their lives in four-and-a-half years of armed conflict, which began with anti-government protests before escalating into a full-scale civil war. More than 11 million others have been forced from their homes as forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad and those opposed to his rule battle each other - as well as Jihadist militants from so-called Islamic State. Now, Syrians find themselves in escalated conflict with the united States. Luke talked with Unicef NZ Exec Director Viv Maidaborn.
