Curiosity has sent another postcard home from Mars.
The photo-snapping rover has captured the first 360-degree colour panorama of Gale Crater. Scientists admired the sweeping vista, which at first glance seems similar to California's Mojave Desert.
The panorama mosaic shot is composed of 130 thumbnail images, including the base of Mount Sharp - a five-kilometre-high mountain rising from the crater floor, which the six-wheeled Curiosity is expected to explore.
