The Australian government is considering ways to choose who attends ANZAC centenary celebrations.
The government is not ruling out a ballot to decide which Australians can attend Gallipoli ceremonies in 2015.
The size and terrain of Anzac Cove on the Turkish peninsula means that numbers will be limited to 10,500 people. That has led to the flagging of a lottery option by the Department of Veterans Affairs, which manages commemorations at Gallipoli.
However, some members of the RSL are furious that descendants of soldiers who died at Gallipoli could miss out by mere chance.
