Syrian opposition says 78 people have been killed by government backed militias in a tiny farming hamlet of Qubeir near Hama.
They say army tanks shelled the village, and then villagers were shot and stabbed.
CNN's Arwa Damon says some video is emerging of bodies that have been torched beyond recognition.
Arwa Damon says the country moves closer and closer to civil war, and that the Syrian opposition wants UN peacekeepers currently in the country to get there as soon as possible.
UN observers are on the ground but activists say they can't get to the area immediately because of the security situation.
Arwa Damon says they hope if it's proven this is another massacre, the international community acts more decisively than it did after the Houla killings.
