Arrests as police clear student disruption

Written by

Police say around 30 students have been arrested during a protest on one of central Auckland's busiest roads.

Angry students sat on Symonds Street, blocking traffic, and the arrests came as officers tried to clear the road.  It's the second consecutive Friday that students have caused disruption.

Symonds Street has since been reopened to limited traffic.  However motorists are still being advised to avoid the area if possible.
