Sarah Cowley Olympic Hopes

Written by

Kiwi heptathlete Sarah Cowley has produced four personal best performances to reach the Olympic standard at a meet in Austria.

Cowley finished 18th and scored 6135 points, exceeding the standard of 6050 set by the Athletics New Zealand selectors.

The highlight for the 28-year-old was the high jump, where she jumped a personal best 1.91.

Cowley's just the third New Zealand woman to jump over 1.90 metres.

Former world heptathlon champion, and British athlete Jessica Ennis, won the event.
